CHERRY BLOSSOM RIDING TOURS

This guided tour showcases the beauty of Macon's Yoshino cherry trees in neighborhoods throughout the city as well as historic landmarks such as St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and the Woodruff House.  Please arrive 15 minutes before departure time.

HAY HOUSE DAILY GUIDED TOURS

9 a.m. until 5 p.m. (last tour at 4:30) $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and military, $5 for students and children over 6; children under 6 and Georgia Trust and National Trust Members are free.   $7/person for groups of 20 or more (must be pre-arranged).  Visitors will enjoy the circa 1855-59 Italian Renaissance Revival mansion owned and operated by The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation.  The Hay House is also offering two behind-the-scenes tours that will take place on March 21, 24, 26, and 28th.  Reservations are required for the in-depth tour of all seven levels of the Hay House including the cupola and its cat walk and times vary by day.  The cost for the behind-the-scenes tour is $20/person.  Top of the House Tours take place the 23rd -27th.  Regular admission price plus $5.00, ages 8 and older only.  For more information on the tours, please call 478-742-8155. 

 

CANNONBALL HOUSE TOURS AND DEMONSTRATIONS

9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on March 20-29, Sundays Noon until 5 p.m. or by appointment.  $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and military, and $2 for students.  Children under 6 are free, groups of 15 or more $3, AAA discounts available.  (478) 745-5982.

Enjoy an Antebellum mansion, built in 1853, struck by a Union shell during the Civil War.  Tours include the original brick kitchen/ servant's quarters and demonstrations by living historians.  Gift Shop onsite.  There will be a Candlelight Tour on Friday, March 27th which will include soldier re-enactors and music.

OCMULGEE NATIONAL LANTERN LIGHT TOURS

Presented by the Ocmulgee National Monument Association

March 20,21,22,27, & 29 from 7 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

1207 Emery Hwy.  Adults 13 years and older $6.00 per person.  Tickets are purchased at the visitor center.  Experience a ranger led, 1.5 mile walk among the ancient Ocmulgee Mounds.  The tour begins at the visitor center and ends at the Great Temple Mound with a dramatic view of downtown Macon at night. WOODRUFF HOUSE TOUR

March 20-21 and 23-28, Bond St.  10 a.m. - 4 p.m., $4/person at the door

This antebellum mansion overlooks the entire city of Macon offering spectacular views.  The Ikebana Japanese Flower Arranging Exhibit is also on display throughout the Woodruff House by members of the Middle Georgia Chapter of Ikebana International.
